Thank-you cards are the easiest to write and the easiest to get wrong, because “thanks for everything” says nothing. The trick is simple: name what the person did and what it meant to you.

A simple formula

Three parts: what they did, what it did for you, and a warm closing. “Thank you for staying late to help me with the report. It took a lot of stress away. I owe you a coffee.”

Examples for work

  • “Thank you for your patience while I learned the system. It meant a lot.”
  • “Your feedback made the project so much better.”
  • “Thanks for always making time, even when you were busy.”

Examples for friends and neighbours

  • “Thank you for watering the plants. They have never looked so good.”
  • “Thank you for the dinner and for listening. I needed both.”
  • “You made a hard week a lot lighter.”

Thank someone together

A thank-you from a group is bigger than one from a single person. A teacher, a volunteer or a manager who leaves will remember thirty messages. Everybody writes a line or two, and the card shows how many people were helped.

Frequently asked questions about the thank you card

What does it cost to send a thank you card digitally?

Starting is free: up to 7 people, one photo each, the free designs and a small watermark. For € 4.95 per card you get 20 people, two photos each, all designs, the slideshow and a PDF; for € 7.50 unlimited people and three photos. You pay once per card, never a subscription.

How long does it take to make the card?

About two minutes for the organiser. Everybody else opens the link, types a message and adds a photo.

Do the people who write need an account?

No. They open the link and write. Only the person who makes the card can choose to have an account.

When does the card arrive?

On the day and time you choose, by e-mail. The day before, the organiser gets a preview.
