The honest answer: from nothing to a few euros per card, and a few services charge a subscription. The price depends on how many people write in the card, how many photos you want and whether you want to keep it afterwards.
Can I send a digital card for free?
Yes. Many services have a free version with limits: a small number of messages, a watermark or adverts. On Emailkaarten.nl the free plan covers up to seven people, one photo each, the free designs and layouts, online for three months, with a small watermark.
What do I get for € 4.95?
20 people, two photos each, no watermark, all premium designs, the slideshow, a PDF to keep or print, and twelve months online. You pay once, for that card.
What do I get for € 7.50?
Unlimited people, three photos each and a card that stays online for good. That is the one to choose for a big farewell or a school class.
What should I watch out for?
- Subscriptions. If you send one card a year, a subscription is a poor deal.
- Per message prices. Check what the limit is before you share the link.
- Watermarks and adverts. Free is fine when the card is for a colleague; for a gift you may want it removed.
- What is behind the card. Does the receiver need an account? Is the card removed after a month?

Is a printed card cheaper?

Is an e-card cheaper than a card from the shop?
Usually, especially for a group. A shop card costs a few euros plus a stamp and has to be passed around. A group e-card costs nothing up to € 4.95 and everybody writes from where they are.
Do I pay per message or per card?
Per card. It does not matter how many messages arrive within the limit of your plan. You pay once for that card, never a subscription.
What does an e-card for a farewell or retirement cost?
For a team of up to twenty it is € 4.95 per card, for a whole company € 7.50. A free card is possible, but only for seven writers.
